Issues tackled

The project aims to propose a solution for addressing renovation fragmentation, improving energy efficiency, and fostering sustainability. Its approach aligns with the EU-level objectives for deep renovation and carbon reduction in the building sector.

To achieve the project’s goals, a Defragmentation Multidisciplinary Toolkit (DMT) will be developed. Affordable housing providers will take part to test potential comprehensive and cost-effective renovation solutions.

Our efforts will include supporting members to explore new markets, driving policy advocacy, and enhancing communication activities to disseminate insights and results. The Brussels team will support interested members in securing funding to implement these strategies effectively.

In addition, Housing Europe will collaborate with a member organisation to identify potential new markets for partial testing. The ambition is to demonstrate compliance with BARRIO’s technological criteria and try out the created mobile app in their local context.
